Elkins, WV – AAUW Branch

Celebrating Our 60th Anniversary

Membership

AAUW welcomes members who hold the baccalaureate or associate degree from a regionally accredited college or university. Registered Nurses who received a diploma from a regionally accredited college or university are also eligible to join AAUW. In principle and in practice AAUW values and seeks a diverse membership.

Prospective members are welcome to attend any branch meeting to meet us, enjoy the program, and learn more about the work of AAUW before joining our branch. Members receive the AAUW magazine — Outlook, the West Virginia AAUW’s quarterly newsletter — Mountain Vision, and the Elkins Branch quarterly newsletter — Happenings. Undergraduates in two- or four-year regionally accredited educational institutions can also join as Elkins Branch student affiliates.

For more information about current dues and to request a membership application to join our branch, whether as a college graduate or as a student affiliate, contact:
Barbara W. Tedford, President; Jane Trimble, Membership Vice President.

You can visit the national AAUW website and learn about other member services as well as see complete descriptions of opportunities for doing research, pursuing further study, and applying for grants.  In the 2005-06 academic year the Educational Foundation provided almost 200 fellowships, grants, and special awards to outstanding women.
